Tall oil biobased solutions, endless innovations

Abstract: In today’s world there is a growing interest for truly sustainable solutions; however, sustainability has many facets. Although known for many decades for their outstanding performance in many applications, the drive for sustainability has renewed the interest for chemicals derived from pine trees. Kraton is the leading global producer of pine chemicals based on tall oil which credentials meet one of the widest sets of sustainability criteria such as being 100% biobased (USDA certified), not competing for land with food crops, non-food sourced, land use change free, sourced from responsibly managed forests. This presentation summarizes the outstanding fundamentals of the tall oil building blocks produced by Kraton from a functional and a sustainability point of view. Besides the intermediates coming from pine oil distillation, derivatives and a new innovative solution, SYLVASOLV bio-oils will be presented.
