NMR studies of surfactant adsorption on sands and kaolin in chemical enhanced oil recovery

Abstract: The research focuses on NMR as a non-destructive and fast technique to estimate adsorption under several hardness sceneries with two anionic surfactants. In the static test, kaolin, sand, and surfactant blend were placed in a beaker and stirred for hours, after which the supernatant was removed with a plastic syringe and taken to the NMR Equipment. The comparison with methylene blue method depicted an excellent fit, even in the presence of several surfactants and reduction time and cost when NMR was used
