Abstract: Sunflower Seed Processing is always an interesting subject as there are several seed varieties and it is considered a premium product, especially in the actual world conditions. The target of the presentation is to make focus on the main parameters and cares to have into the Solvent Extraction Plant when work with Dehulling Sunflower seed cake. But also share information regarding some other methodology than classic seed preparation used when the processing plant is not foreseen originally on that purpose. As known in the plants where is Process Sunflower many times is as well process some other soft seeds as Rapeseed / Canola, Peanuts or other. Then during the presentation will be shown consideration for those cases. One interesting case to be presented is about how to work sunflower with the Preparation Plant design for Soya. That mean to work in the extraction plant with a material not dehullled but also without being pressed (with the 40 to 45% of oil). In Argentina some small plants work in that way when not soya is available. The operational parameters however have to be respect and adapt when necessary. Extraction time, but desolventization time, desolventization vapor temperature are proper for every seed and the Sunflower. In summary the presentation will address industrial information for processing Sunflower seed.
