ICP methods commonly used to analyze the oils and fats in biofuel feedstocks are hindered by contaminants. This session will explore a robust aqueous method that produces results in good agreement with the AOCS LLP method. The presentation will also discuss the Lovibond universal verification standard that allows customers to check inter-instrument agreement to ensure the performance of color quality controls. In addition, the session will cover a new technique that can simultaneously measure short-chain fatty acids and transfats and can be simplified for instruments that cannot perform negative temperature gradients.
