The consumption of mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) is a concern. A talk will discuss strategies to reduce MOSH and MOAH in crude palm oil. Another presentation will address challenges in the analysis of MOSH/MOAH. Also, glycidyl fatty acid esters are unwanted by-products primarily found in refined vegetable fats and oils and are a genotoxic concern. A presentation will review analytical approaches and challenges associated with their degradation in emulsifier products and complex sample matrices.
