This session will explore the synergies observed when formulating highly branched, C15-rich alkyl surfactants into sustainable laundry products. A talk will present the synthesis and properties of a lightly branched C18 alcohol derived from an industrial waste stream to produce ethoxylation to nonionic surfactants and sulfated to anionic surfactants. Also, digitalized and modernized laboratory cleaning test methods replace the radiolabeled soil method with a reflectance method that can be applied to many different soils.
