Neal Williams is a research engineer for the Filtration & Life Sciences business unit of Imerys Performance Minerals Americas. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from University of Louisville. Neal has been working on research and development projects to develop new products and technologies for the purification of oils and fats since 2014. Throughout his career he has led developments in the treatment and purification of frying oils, biodiesel, renewable diesel, and edible oils. His current research is focused on contaminant removal in renewable diesel feedstocks, specifically the removal of phospholipids and metals by adsorbent filtration during the pretreatment stage.
