Dr. Véronique Gibon, Science Manager, Desmet Ballestra Group, R&D, Zaventem Belgium.

Dr. Véronique Gibon is graduated from the University of Namur (Belgium) where she earned a Ph. D. in Chemistry (Specialty: physical chemistry and crystallography) in 1984.
Her thesis related to the study of crystallization properties of palm oil.
She started her carrier as Assistant Professor at the University of Namur, in charge of several research projects on fat crystallization.
In 1995, she was hired as R&D Manager by the Belgian company Fractionnement Tirtiaux and later moved (2005) to the R&D Center of Desmet Ballestra Group in Zaventem.
She has now the function of Science Manager.
She also acts as scientific collaborator in the Department of Food Science and Formulation of the University of Liège (Belgium) from 2010.
She is author of numerous scientific publications related to oils and fats, and is member of the AOCS since the start of her career.
