I'm Kristina Harris Jackson, PhD, RDN, and I am the Director of Research at OmegaQuant Analytics, LLC and an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at the Sanford School of Medicine - University of South Dakota. I received my PhD in Nutritional Sciences from Pennsylvania State University in 2013 and completed my training to become a Registered Dietitian in 2014. As a graduate student, I studied under Dr. Penny Kris-Etherton, an internationally-recognized expert in fats and nutrition. I worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado-Denver under Dr. John Peters in the area of worksite wellness before returning to the omega-3 field. I joined the family business OmegaQuant Analytics as a Research Associate in 2014, with a particular focus on omega-3s in maternal health, helping create the Prenatal DHA test (patent-pending) and the Mother’s Milk DHA tests. In 2020, I became Assistant Professor (non-tenure) in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine (2020- 2022).
