Dr. Kristi Snell is the Chief Science Officer and Vice President of Research at Yield10 Bioscience, an agricultural bioscience company that is developing superior Camelina varieties to produce low-carbon index feedstocks for fuels, land-based omega-3 DHA and EPA oils, and PHA bioplastics. She has over 20 years of experience in metabolic engineering of plants and microbes for production of polymers/chemicals or to increase plant yield. Dr. Snell received a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University and performed post-doctoral research at MIT. Prior to Yield10, she led the plant science research programs at Metabolix, an industrial biotechnology company, to produce biopolymers in plants. Yield10 is headquartered in Woburn, MA and has a wholly owned subsidiary, Yield10 Oilseeds, in Saskatoon, Canada.
