Dr. Hualu (Lu) Zhou, Assistant Professor of Food Chemistry at the Department of Food Science and Technology on the University of Georgia, Griffin campus. She received her doctor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst under the direction of Dr. David Julian McClements, master’s degree from Xiamen University, and bachelor’s degree from Nanchang University in China. After that, she worked as postdoctoral researcher for two years in the Food Science Department at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her lab focus on using advanced food science and technologies to enhance food nutrition, safety, and quality, and to create next-generation foods for our community. Until now, she has authored and co-authored more than 40 research articles in peer-reviewed journals with the citation of 1140. She has also received lots of honors and awards from international food institutions, including American Oil Chemist’s Society and Institute of Food Technologist.
