Ronald Marquez, PhD

Ronald Márquez is a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Department of Forest Biomaterials, NC State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Sciences from Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela. His research has focused on physicochemical formulation of surfactant-oil-water systems, including their characterization through interfacial rheology and surface science techniques. He and his research group won the prize for the Best original paper of the Journal of Surfactants and Detergents in the year 2018, awarded by the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS) and the American Cleaning institute. He will be co-chair in the session Surfactant Mixtures and Trace Components in the 2021 AOCS annual meeting. He has been author of more than 15 papers in high impact journals.
