Born and raised in Punjab, India, Sumanjot discovered her passion for food science at a young age, and pursued her dreams by earning a Bachelor's degree in Food Technology from the esteemed Punjab Agricultural University and is currently working on Masters project at University of Arkansas. She works on extracting high-value bioactive compounds and nano-porous materials from rice processing byproducts using supercritical carbon dioxide technology. Her research has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about food waste and sustainable food production. Apart from her work, Sumanjot enjoys exploring the natural beauty of her home country through hiking and trekking. She finds solace in the serene mountains and lush forests that surround her, and is always seeking new adventures and challenges. Sumanjot is also passionate about theater, believing that the performing arts are a powerful tool for personal growth and self-expression.
