Jacob Zwilling is a recent graduate from North Carolina State University, where he earned his PhD in Forest Biomaterials under the guidance of respected faculty members from the Departments of Forest Biomaterials, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, and Microbiology. He dedicated his research to colloid science and nanotechnology, with a particular emphasis on the fabrication of lignin nanoparticles using the antisolvent precipitation method. Building on this foundation, he explored a variety of practical applications for his work, such as lignin fractionation, entrapment of hydrophobic essential oils for enhanced delivery, and antibacterial formulations for food packaging. After completing his PhD he began his career in the petroleum additive industry, where he focuses on interfacial performance and phase-change behavior, applying his expertise to contribute to advancements in the field.
