Khalid M. Abed is a highly regarded academician and researcher in the field of chemical engineering, with a specialization in oil extraction, deep eutectic solvents, bulk liquid membranes, emulsion liquid membranes, adsorption, and electrocoagulation. He completed his Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Technology, Iraq, where he gained a solid foundation in chemical engineering principles and practices. He then pursued a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Baghdad, Iraq.
As a Ph.D. student at the prestigious University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Abed has been at the forefront of cutting-edge research in the field of chemical engineering, with a particular focus on oil extraction and related technologies. His research has been widely recognized and published in indexed journals, and he has also served as a reviewer for many esteemed journals.
Abed's research is characterized by its innovative approach and sustainability focus, aiming to find advanced solutions for oil extraction and processing using techniques such as deep eutectic solvents, bulk liquid membranes, emulsion liquid membranes, adsorption, and electrocoagulation.
Currently, Abed holds the position of Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Baghdad, where he is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring students, as well as leading research projects.
